Abstract:Theestablishmentoftheecologicalcompensationmechanism isconducivetotheecological
protectionandhighqualitydevelopmentoftheYellowRiverBasin.Fromtheperspectiveofwaterfoot
print,thispaperdiscussedtheuseofwaterresourcesinnineprovincesandregionsoftheYellowRiver
Basinfrom2011to2020 ,anddeterminedthepayersandpayeesofecologicalcompensationandthere
spectiveecologicalcompensationstandards.TheresultsindicatethatthewaterfootprintoftheYellow
RiverBasinshowedanoverallincreasingtrendwithdifferentcompositionratios ,whichismanifestedas
agriculturalwaterfootprint> industrialwaterfootprint>domesticwaterfootprint>exportvirtualwater
footprint>importvirtualwaterfootprint>ecologicalwaterfootprint.Asfortheecologicalcompensation
standards,theYellowRiverBasinwasthemaincompensationpayerwithfluctuatedstandards,thehigh

estcompensationstandardreached¥341.542×10 in2015andthelowestwas¥1.275×10 in2020,
