                 Abstract:Concretegravitydamsarepronetostructuralsafetyissuesunderstrongearthquakes,therefore
                 reasonableandeconomicengineeringmeasuresareneededfortheprotection.Asandretaininggravity
                 daminnorthwestChinawastakenastheresearchobject ,anditsnaturalvibrationcharacteristicsanddy
                 namicresponsewereanalyzedbasedonthemodesuperpositionresponsespectrum method.Takingthe
                 tensilestressonthedamheelandthevariablecostofseismicmeasuresintoaccount ,thisstudyemployed
                 theimprovedmultiobjectivecuckoosearch(MOCS)algorithm fortheoptimizationofantiseismicde
                 sign.Inordertoimprovetheperformanceofthealgorithm ,improvementsweremadebyadjustingthe
                 crowdingdistancecalculationformula ,introducingpolynomialmutationoperators,dynamicstepsizeand
                 discoveryprobability.Throughcomparativeexperimentswithothermultiobjectivealgorithmsondifferent
                 testfunctions,ithasbeenproventhattheimprovedMOCSalgorithmhastheadvantagesofhighcomputa
                 tionalefficiencyanduniformsetresolution.Finally,basedontheParetooptimalsolutionset,theration
                 alityofthedesignschemeforgravitydamswasevaluated ,andcorrespondingengineeringsuggestionswere
                 proposed.Thisstudycanprovidesomevaluableinsightsforthestructuraldesignofconcretegravitydams
                 inhighintensityearthquakeareas.
