Model test investigations on the uplift bearing characteristics of the inclined anchor plate in loose sand were carried out with Fujian standard sand as the filler. Sand deformation characteristics around the inclined anchor plate was analyzed by digital image correlation (DIC), and the influences of the inclination angle and buried depth ratio of the anchor plate were discussed. The test results show that under the same inclination angle, with the increase of the buried depth ratio, the peak uplift force and the corresponding displacement level of the anchor plate both increase gradually. Under the same buried depth ratio, with the increase of the inclination angle, the development form of the uplift curve almost stay the same, but the change of the buried depth ratio affects the form of the uplift curve. When the buried depth ratio is large, the influence of the inclination angle on the uplift bearing capacity has interval effect, i.e. when the inclination angle is around 10°, the uplift bearing capacity is the smallest. According to the digital image analyses of the soil deformation, this phenomenon is closely related to the different functional mechanisms of vertical and lateral soil resistances when the anchor plates with different inclination angles are pulled out.
