The current application of CFD technology to the ozonic water supply treatment research was reviewed. On the basis of previous data, ozone contactor was selected as the main research object. The main content of the study is to optimize the pond structure to solve the problem of back flow and dead zones, the optimization of hydraulic structure can improve the efficiency of gas-liquid contact in the contactor, and the flow is more close to the ideal plug flow. The study of ozone decay and organic matter degradation in the contactor was partly involved. The major conclusion is that the ozone decay follows the first-order kinetics, while the degradation of organic matter is the second order kinetics. However, the reaction mechanism should depend on the specific circumstances. Based on the analysis of the present research findings and application prospect of CFD, future research direction will be the further studies on organic matter degradation and related chemical reaction mechanism in the contactor, and the establishment of a more comprehensive evaluation index of ozonic treatment process.
