Analysis of sources and evolution characteristics of typical overbank flood and recent change of channel erosion and deposition in Shandong section of the Yellow river
The Shandong section of the lower Yellow River is a typical secondary suspended river. The overbank flood threats the safety of dike. This paper analyzed the source and composition of four overbank floods such as "58.7"、"82.8"、"76.8" and "96.8" which occurred in the Lower Reaches of the Yellow River after 1949, and the running characteristics in Shandong section, the especially the characteristics revealed by “96.8” flood. It also analyzed the variation of channel erosion, deposition ande water and sediment transport capacity of the main channel in Shandong section of the Yellow River in recent ten years. It suggested that the water and rainfall information in upstream river should be known in time, the source and composition of flood should be scientificlly analyzed. Accorsing to the current river channel boundary conditions and overbank flood routing law,the paper analyzed the revolution characteristics of possible flood, which is the important reference for predicting flood.
