Analysis of performance of old semi-rigid base material has a certain guiding role for the old semi-rigid material recycling. The paper selected old semi-rigid base material extracted from four different construction sites to make a systematic analysis of raw material performances and the strength of recycled materials through test, and compared that with the natural gravel and normative standards to evaluate the possibility and applicability of its recycling. Result shows that the old semi-rigid material after milling, its surface wrapped with mortar created new section which helps to enhance the strength of recycled materials. The aggregate gradation meets the requirements of traditional suspension dense gradation range. The residual activity of aggregate has been basically lost, but recycled aggregates still has certain strength and is absorbent. The strength of recycled materials meets the strength requirements of each grade highway subbase in specification.
