The aim of the work is investigate the formation potential of trichloronitrome thane (TCNMFP) of the precipitated water in drinking water plant with two different typical seasons, summer and autum, during chloramination.Besides,it studied the effects of several factors such as chloramination contact time, pH and bromide concentration on TCNMFP.Results indicate that all experimental water in different seasons have produced TCNM after chloramination. The level of TCNM in the summer′s water is a little higher than that in the autumn water. As the chloramination time is extended, the TCNMFP increases. The yield of TCNM increases with the increase of pH but decreases obviously when pH further rise. The highest production of TCNM was observed at pH equal to 8 during chloramination. Higher bromide concentration caused a significant reduction for TCNM.
