This paper adopted a standpipe method to measure the vertical hydraulic permeability coefficient of a floodplain saturated zone in Weihe river so as to provide a more convenient way to determine the permeability coefficient of floodplain sediment. The paper analyzed the variations of hydraulic conductivity coefficient within a row and between rows. Matlab was used to test the statistical distribution rule of experimental data. The principle of geological statistics was applied to calculate the variation function of the coefficient and analyze the spatial correlation. The hydraulic conductivity values belong to lognormal distribution. The average Kv value of 78 sampling points is 11.35m/d,the Kv value along the river is close and differs from the direction perpendicular to the river. The vertical hydraulic conductivity of the floodplain saturated zone in Weihe river has strong spatial variability.
