               Abstract:Inordertoexploretheeffectofreservoirthermalstratificationontheverticaldistributionofdis
               solvedoxygen (DO),amonitoringplatformwassetupinPanjiakouReservoirinAugust2019.Formonito
               ringpurposes ,YSI-EXO2monitorandNISKINsamplerwereusedtocollectwatersamplesandtomeasure
               theverticaldistributionofwaterqualityindicatorssuchaswatertemperature,dissolvedoxygen,pH and
               phytoplanktoninthereservoir.Then ,theinfluencingfactorsofthedistributionofdissolvedoxygenandthe
               formationcausesresponsibleforthemetalimneticoxygenminimum(MOM)duringthethermalstratification
               periodwereanalyzedbasedonthemeasurements.TheresultsshowedthatPanjiakouReservoirhasunderg
               onesignificantthermalstratificationinAugust,2019andthewatertemperaturepresentedepilimnion-met
               alimnion-hypolimnionstructure.Theconcentrationofdissolvedoxygenintheepilimnionwashigherthan
               6.5mg/L ,whereasinthemetalimnionitwasreducedsignificantlywithalargegradient,whereMOM ap
               pearedbecauseofthethermalstratification.Theconcentrationofdissolvedoxygeninthehypolimniongrad
               uallyrecoveredpartly.Correlationanalysisindicatedthatdissolvedoxygenwassignificantlycorrelatedwith
               watertemperatureandbuoyancyfrequency,andthethermalstratificationwasthemainphysicalfactorfor
               theformationofMOM.DissolvedoxygenwaspositivelycorrelatedwithphytoplanktonbiomassandpH ,
               whichwasmainlyassociatedwithphotosynthesisandrespirationofphytoplankton.ThedevelopmentofMOM
