Abstract:Themechanismofgroundwaterflowintheexcavationpitwithsuspendedwaterproofcurtainis
verycomplex.Toexploretheflowcharacteristicsofgroundwatercausedbytheimplementationofthewa
terproofcurtainandpumpingwell ,anovelmodelisestablishedbasedonthenonsteadygroundwaterflow
inaconfinedaquiferbelowacircularfoundationpit.ByapplyingLaplaceandfiniteFouriercosinetrans
formstotheseepagemodel ,thesolutionofwaterheaddrawdownintheLaplacedomainisderived.Even
tually,thetimedomainnonsteadygroundwaterflowdrawdownintheconfinedaquifersubjectedtoexca
vationdewateringwithsuspendedwaterproofcurtainisobtainedusingtheStehfestmethod.Aftertheveri
ficationofthecalculationmethodandthenumericalinversetransformation ,thecalculationmethodisfur
therverifiedintheapplicationtoapracticalproject.Parametricstudyisalsocarriedouttoassesshowthe
flowcharacteristicsofgroundwaterareinfluencedbythepenetratingdepthofthecurtain.Resultsshow
thattheimplementationofthecurtainhasapositiveeffectonthegroundwatercontrolinsideandoutside
theexcavationpit.Theproposedcalculationmethodprovidesanewapproachfortherationaldesignofthe
decompressionanddewateringofconfinedaquiferbelowthecircularexcavationpitwithsuspendedwater
proofcurtain.
