In order to improve the efficiency and quality of design, dig the potentiality and save the dam material, based on the structure features and loading features of CFRD, the mathematical model of CFRD''s optimization design was established. Calculation results of a practical example showed that design method was feasible and rational. The model riches the content of CFRD''s optimization design, and provides an important theory and application value for the dam.
