In order to improve the public awareness of water saving and cherish water, promote reasonable development, utilization, distribution, saving and protection of water resources in Yellow River Basin, this article introduced the water resources and utilization in Yellow River Basin. By using trend analysis and comparison methods, the paper analyzed the change of gross amount of water resources in Yellow River, and the variation composition trend of surface water and groundwater resources .The results showed that in recent years the gross water resources was decreased, but the amount of water consumption was increased year by year. The research is helpful to understand the situation of water resources and consumption in Yellow River Basin.
