Water resources identification for regional planning is one of the major works, and it is still in infancy. Yangkou Port economic development zone in Jiangsu Province stands in the forward position of the coastal development, the study of planning water resources identification is important for reasonable use of water resources, and realizing the water resources protection and sustainable utilization. This paper took Yangkou Port economic development zone for example and probed the content and methods of planning water resources identification, witch can provide some references for the compilation work.
