Abstract:Asahiddenwatersource,groundwaterplaystheroleofimportantwaterresourcesreserveun
derextremearidconditions.Inrecentyears,extremedroughteventshaveoccurredfrequentlyinthePoy
angLakeBasin.ToexplorethepotentialstorageofgroundwaterinthePoyangLakeBasinspatially ,the
groundwaterpotentialareawasidentifiedandmappedbythegeographicinformationsystem (GIS)and
theanalytichierarchyprocess (AHP).Atotalof11influencingfactorswereselectedtocharacterizethe
groundwaterpotential,includinglithology,geomorphology,soiltype,landuse/landcover(LULC),
drainagedensity,curvature,roughness,topographicwetnessindex,topographicpositionindex,annual
precipitation ,andslope.Theresultsshowedthatthecombinedweightoflithology,geomorphology,soil
