Abstract:Effectivediffusionofslurryduringpulsatinggroutingiscrucialforimprovingtheoveralleffi
ciencyofseepagecontrolprojects.BasedonthebasictheoryoftwophaseDarcy’slaw,anumerical
modelisestablishedtosimulatethepulsatinggroutingdiffusionprocessunderseepageconditions.The
effectsofparameterssuchasfinalpressure ,duration,aswellassuccessiveperiodandintervalsofpulsa
tinggroutingonthegroutingofporousmediaareanalyzedunderseepageconditions.Theresultsshow
thattheslurrydrivenbythepulsatinggroutingpressurescattersbothinthediffusionregionagainstthe
flowandthediffusionregionwiththeflow.Whengroutingfor300seconds ,thediffusionradiusofthere
gionwiththeflowis2-4timesthatoftheregionagainsttheflow.Asthefinalpressureofpulsatinggrou
tingincreasesandthedurationadvances ,thediffusiondistanceoftheslurryincreaseslogarithmically,
andthediffusionrangeandslurryconcentrationincreasesgradually.Whengroutingfor900seconds,the
diffusionradiusoftheslurryintheregionwiththeflowatthefinalpressureof2.4MPais23.5timesthat
atthefinalpressureof0.4MPa.Whengroutingfor300seconds ,thediffusionradiusanddiffusionopen
ingoftheslurryintheregionagainsttheflowreachstability.Whenthefinalpressureofpulsatinggrou
tingis2.4MPa ,thediffusionradiusanddiffusionopeningoftheslurryintheregionagainstthefloware
5.9and5.6timeshigherthanwhenthefinalpressureis0.4MPa,respectively.Asthesuccessiveperi
odofpulsatinggroutingincreasesfromtwototenseconds ,thediffusiondistanceoftheslurryincreases
logarithmically.Asthepulsationintervalincreasesfromtwosecondstoeightseconds,thediffusiondis
tanceoftheslurrydecreaseslogarithmically.
