Abstract:Asthemainapproachtostudyingtherockmechanicalpropertiesandrevealingtheevolutionofme
socracks ,numericalsimulationmethodsarewidelyadoptedanddiscussed.Theexistingnumericalsimulation
parametercalibrationmethodsaremainlytrialanderrormethodsandorthogonaltestmethods ,bothofwhich
failtofullyconsidertheinfluenceofmesoscopicparameterinteractions,resultingininaccuratesimulationre
sultsandinconsistencywithlaboratorytestsintermsofmacroscopicfailuremodes.Therefore,thenumerical
analysismethodcombiningorthogonal-responsesurfacemethodisadopted.Firstly ,theparallelbondmodel
(PBM)mesoscopicparameterswithsignificantinfluenceareselectedbyorthogonaltest.Secondly,there
sponsesurfacemethod(RSM)isusedtostudytheinfluenceoftheinteractionsbetweenmesoscopicparame
tersonthemacroscopicparametersofthemodelsample.Finally ,asetofPBMparametercalibrationprocess
isproposedincombinationwiththemacroscopicfailuremorphologyoftherock.Theresultsshowthateffective
modulus(E ),stiffnessratio(k/k)andtheirinteractionshavesignificanteffectsonelasticmodulus(E);

curvesofthetwoareconsistent ,andthemacroscopicfailuremodesarethesame,whichprovesthatthepro
posedcalibrationprocessofPBMmesoscopicparametersisaccurateandreliable.
