                 Abstract:Theexistingregionalecologicalcompensationpoliciesforthewaterenvironmenthavedeficien
                 ciessuchasincomprehensivecompensationfactorsandscope ,unreasonableandinappropriatecompensa
                 tionstandardsetting,whichmadethepolicieslagbehindthedynamicchangesofthesocialeconomyand
                 ecologicalenvironment.Inviewoftheseissues,theexistingregionalcompensationmethodforthewater
                 environmentinChangshuCity ,JiangsuProvinceisimproved.Accordingtotherequirementsofregional
                 economicdevelopmentandwaterenvironmentmanagement,theadministrativedivisionistakenasthe
                 basicunit,factorssuchastheconcentrationofwaterquality,regionalwateruseandsewagedischargeat
                 crosssectionswereconsideredtoformulatenewdynamicladderedcalculationmethodsforwaterenviron
                 mentcompensationbasedonthewaterqualitycategory ,excessivewateruseandexcessivepollutiondis
                 chargeattranboundaryriversections.Thesemethods ,whichareapplicabletointer-regionalandintra
                 -regionalcontextsrespectively ,aredesignedtoaddresscurrentcompensationissuesandtomakethe
                 compensationstandardsmorescientificallygrounded,soastoenhancethelevelandeffectivenessofwater
                 environmentmanagementandfosterthesustainabledevelopmentofwaterecosystems.
