                 Abstract:Inordertoexplorethedevelopmentlawandregionaloccurrenceprobabilitycharacteristicsof
                 droughteventsinGuizhouProvince,themonthlymeteorologicaldataof1960-2017measuredat17me
                 teorologicalstationsinGuizhouProvincewereusedtocalculatethestandardizedprecipitationevapotrans
                 pirationindex(SPEI).Then,theruntheorymethodwiththreethresholds,waveletanalysisandCopula
                 functionswereusedtoanalyzethespatiotemporalevolutionofdroughtevents ,droughtcycleandregional
                 returnperiods.TheresultsshowthatdroughtsinGuizhouProvinceaggravatedduring1960-2017 ,but
                 theintensitiesdifferentiatedindifferentregions ,amongwhichthedrynesstrendwithalineartendency
                 rateof-0.003/10ainsouthwestGuizhouwasthemostobvious.Thedroughtintensityrankedfromthe
                 highesttothelowestisasfollows :eastGuizhou,northGuizhou,southwestGuizhou,centralGuizhou,
                 northwestGuizhouandsouthGuizhou,anddroughtsoccurredmostfrequentlyincentralGuizhou.The
                 maincyclesofseasonaldroughtswere18 ,15,30and8ainGuizhouProvincewithasignificantdiffer
                 enceinthedistributionofthesouthandnorth ,andtherangeoftheareaswithlongdroughtcyclesin
                 creasedfirstandthendecreased.ThedroughtreturnperiodinnorthGuizhouisthesmallest,indicating
                 thattheregionhasahighoccurrenceprobabilityofextremedroughtevents ,andismostlikelytobeafflic
                 tedbydroughtdisasters.Theseresultscanprovidetheoreticalreferenceforwaterresourcesmanagement
