                 Abstract:Inviewofwaterecologicalproblemssuchasinsufficienthydrodynamicpoweranddeteriora
                 tingwaterqualityinXinghaiLake,atwodimensionalhydrodynamicwaterqualitymodelwasestab
                 lishedwithchemicaloxygendemand(COD)asthewaterqualityindicator.12workingconditionsun
                 derdifferenthydrologicalcharacteristicsandwaterdiversionvolumeswerecalculatedtoanalyzethe
                 changesandspatialdistributionofhydrodynamicsandCODinthelakeareaunderdifferentwaterquan
                 titiesfromtheYellowRiver.TheresultsshowthatthediversionoftheYellowRiverwatercaneffective
                 lyimprovethehydrodynamicsandwaterqualityofXinghaiLake ,reducetheareaofstagnationand
                 CODconcentration.Underthesamehydrologicalworkingcondition ,CODconcentrationgraduallyde
                 creaseswiththeincreaseofwaterdiversionanditsreductionrategraduallyincreases;underthesame
                 waterdiversionconditions,CODreductionrateinhighflowyearsisgenerallyhigherthanthatinlow
