Abstract:TheissuesaboutclimaticdriversofextremeprecipitationintheJialingRiverBasinarecom
plexandunclear.Inordertoinvestigatetheclimaticdrivers ,wecollecteddailyprecipitationdatafrom
1960to2019toanalyzethespatiotemporalchangesoftheconsecutivedrydays (CDD)andconsecutive
wetdays(CWD),usingstatisticalmethodsofSen’slope,Mann-Kendall,andrandomforest.There
sultsshowedthatthetrendsofCDDandCWDwere3.8-4.8d/10aand0.42-0d/10a ,with2
(3.3%)and10(15.9%)stationsreachingthesignificanttrendofp=0.05,respectively.Intermsof
localclimaticdrivers ,therewasastrongpositivecorrelationbetweenCWDandannualprecipitation,with
thecorrelationcoefficientsof34(54%)stationsreachingthesignificanttrendofp=0.05.Asforcli
matecirculation ,bothsingleandmultifactoranalysisshowedthatNino3.4andSOI(southernoscilla
tionindex)werethemaindrivingfactorsofthecontinuousextremeprecipitationintheJialingRiverBa
sin,andtherewere28(44.4%)and15(23.8%)stationswithsignificantcorrelationcoefficientsfor
