                 Abstract:Inviewofthefuzzinessandhierarchyofdamsafetyevaluation,thestructuralcharacteristics
                 andfailuremechanismofsmallearthrockfilldamsinChinaareanalyzedtoconstructasafetyevaluation
                 indexsystemconsideringthemulticriteriaandmultifactorsinvolved ,basedonwhich,asafetyevalua
                 tionmethodisproposedcombininganalyticalhierarchyprocessandfuzzytheory.Accordingtothismeth
                 od ,theweightofeachindexiscalculatedbytheanalyticalhierarchyprocessandthenmodifiedbythe
                 fuzzytheory ,sothemembershipvalueofeachindexintheevaluationsystemisobtained,andtheevalua
                 tionresultofthestructuresafetystateisdeterminedaccordingtothemaximummembershipprinciple.In
                 thestudy ,theKangmenReservoirearthrockfilldaminYuhangDistrict,HangzhouCity,ZhejiangProv
                 inceistakenasapracticalengineeringexample ,andtheproposedindexsystemandevaluationmethod
                 areappliedtoevaluateitsstructuralsafetylevel.Comparingthecalculatedevaluationresultswiththeac
                 tualengineeringsituation ,itcanbefoundthatthetwoarebasicallyconsistent,whichinturnverifiesthe
                 effectivenessoftheindexsystemandevaluationmethod.Thisstudycanprovideareferenceforthestruc
                 turalsafetyevaluationofearthrockfilldamsofsmallreservoirs.
