Abstract:ToevaluatethewaterresourcesvulnerabilitystatusofallprefecturesinXinjiang,awaterre
sourcesvulnerabilityevaluationindexsystemisconstructedbasedonthreesubsystemsofnature,human
activitiesandcarryingcapacity,andthewaterresourcesvulnerabilityof15prefecturesinXinjiangise
valuatedfromthetemporalandspatialdimensionsbyfuzzysetpairanalysismodel.Meanwhile ,thetarget
layerdevelopmenttrendisidentifiedbythefiveelementgravitationalsubtractionsetpairpotential.The
resultsshowthatintermsofspatialdistribution ,easternXinjianghasthestrongestwaterresourcesvulner
ability,followedbysouthernXinjiang,andthenorthernXinjiangistheweakest.Intermsofthetempo
raltrend,19.03% oftheregionsshowanupwardtrendofvulnerabilitylevel,18.88% oftheregionsare
relativelystable,62.09% oftheregionsshowadownwardtrend,buttheoverallvulnerabilitysituation
hasimproved.However ,itisnecessarytopaycloseattentiontoUrumqiCity,HamiCityandChangji
Prefecture,wherethedevelopmenttrendofwaterresourcesvulnerabilityisalwaysonthepartiallyoppo
siteside ,andKashgarregionwheretheoppositetrendhasappeared.Theresearchresultscanprovidea
theoreticalbasisfortheefficientutilizationandoptimalmanagementofwaterresourcesinXinjiang.
