Abstract:Theexcavationofadjacentfoundationpitandthechangeofsiteseepageconditionswillaffect
theearthpressureonthesupportingstructureofthefoundationpitconstructedpreviously ,whichinturn
causesstructuraldeformation.However ,therearefewearthpressurecalculationmodelswhichconsider
theabovetwoaspectsatthesametime.Basedonthelimitequilibriummethodandthegeometricrelation
shipbetweentheadjacentexcavationboundaryandthelogarithmicspiralslidingsurface,thecalculation
theoryoftheeffectiveweightofsoilandthechangeofsuctionwiththeseepageconditionofthesiteisin
troducedtoestablishacalculationmodelofactiveearthpressureconsideringtheadjacentpitexcavation
andseepagecondition.Thenthemodelisverifiedtobelogicalandreliablebythemonitoringdata.Pa
rameteranalysisshowsthatwhentheadjacentpitdepthisconstant ,theactiveearthpressurecoefficient
firstchangeslinearlywiththeincreaseofpitspacing,thenincreasesanddecreases,andfinallystabili
zes.Whenthepitspacingisconstant ,withtheincreaseoftheadjacentpitdepththeactiveearthpres
surecoefficientpresentstwotypesofchanges ,oneisthe“hillsidetype”,whichrisesfirstandthende
clines;theotherremainsunchangedafterrising.Therainfallseepageandtheriseofgroundwaterlevel
willreducethesuctionstressinsoilandleadtotheincreaseofactiveearthpressure.Theresearchresults
canprovideatheoreticalreferenceforthestressanddeformationanalysisofthefoundationpitaffectedby
theadjacentpitexcavation.
