Abstract:Duetotheproblemthatthesmallscalephysicalmodelofthelongdistanceflooddiversiontun
nelisdifficulttoprovidesimilarresistanceconditionswiththeactualsituation ,wecarriedoutasmall
scalephysicalmodeltestontheflowcapacityoftheinletgatechambersectionandthedeliverycapacity
ofthetunnelsectionofaflooddiversiontunnelinacountyofShanxiProvince.Basedonthecharacteris
ticsthatuniformflowcanbeformedinthetunnelsection ,thecalculationmethodofopenchanneluni
formflowisusedtoverifythemeasuredresults.Theresultsshowthattheminimumdifferencebetween

thecalculatedflowandthemeasuredflowis11.71m /s,andtherelativeerroris1.93%.Becausethe
distanceoftheentrancegatechambersectionisshortandthelocallossisfargreaterthantheonwayre
sistanceloss,thewaterdepthatthestakenumber0+099.25mofthetunneliscontrolledtothenormal
depthofthetunneltodirectlyverifyitsflowcapacity;theresultsshowthatthemaximumerrorofthecal
culatedflowrateoftheentrancegatechambersectiondoesnotexceed1.78%.Inthecaseoftheflood
oncein30years ,theflowcapacityofthegatechamberandtunneloftherecommendedschemearebasi

callyconsistentwiththemeasuredvalues.Theflooddiversionflowcanreachashighas863m /s,which

is63m /shigherthanthedesignedoverflowof800m /s,accountingfor7.88% ofthedesignedover
flow,indicatingthattherecommendedschemecanfullymeetthedesignrequirements.
