Abstract:Droughtisthemainmeteorologicaldisasteraffectingthepotatoindustryincentralandsouthern
Ningxia ;however,thespatiotemporalcharacteristicsanddrivingfactorsofdroughtindifferentgrowthsta
gesofpotatoesinNingxiaunderclimatechangehavenotyetbeenrevealed.Basedonthedatafromeight
meteorologicalstationsincentralandsouthernNingxiafrom1991to2020,weinvestigatedthetemporal
characteristicsofmeteorologicalelementsanddroughtintensityindifferentgrowthstagesofpotatoes,u
singcropwaterefficiencyindex(CWDI)andMann-Kendalltest.Geographicinformationsystem(GIS)
wasemployedtoanalyzethespatialdistributionofdroughtlevelsandfrequencies,andpathanalysiswas
usedtoidentifythemaindrivingfactors.Theresultsshowedthatformoststations,precipitationandcrop
waterdemandsignificantlydecreasedduringtheflowering-harvestingperiod ,sodidthewindspeed
throughouttheentiregrowthperiod.Thedroughtintensityindifferentgrowthstageswasinthefollowing
order :branching-floweringperiod>flowering-harvestingperiod> germination-branchingperiod.
Theaveragedroughtintensityinthe2010shasdecreasedcomparedwiththe1990sand2000s.Whereas
