                 Abstract:Understandingthedeformationbehaviorsofhydraulictunnelsduringexcavationisthepremise
                 ofdesigningexcavationsupportschemes.Conventionalnumericalsimulationmethodsaretimeconsu
                 ming,andusuallyinvolvealargeamountofcomputationswhenpredictingtunnelexcavationdeformation
                 behaviors.Toovercomethesedifficulties ,weadoptedathreeparameterexponentialfunctiontocharac
                 terizethetunnelexcavationdeformationcurve ,andproposedasurrogatemodelbasedmethodcapableof
                 rapidlypredictingtunnelexcavationdeformationbehaviors ,usingtheLatinhypercubesampling(LHS)
                 methodandtheKrigingmodel.Thentheimplementationprocessofthismethodwasdiscussedindetail.
                 Takingatypicalwaterconveyancetunnelprojectasthecasestudy ,weestablishedarapidpredictionsur
                 rogatemodeltopredictthedeformationcharacteristiccurvesforthreetypicaltunnelsections ,withthe
                 burieddepthandmechanicalparametersofthesurroundingrockastheinput ,andthedeformationchar
                 acterizationparametersastheoutput.Theresultsshowthatthemodelpredictionisinagoodagreement
                 withthatofthefiniteelementsimulationanalysis ,validatingthepredictionaccuracyandadaptabilityof
                 theproposedmethod.Comparedwithconventionalnumericalsimulationmethods ,theproposedmethod
                 cangreatlyimprovethepredictionefficiencyoftheexcavationdeformationbehaviorsofhydraulictunnels.
