               Abstract:Theweirsurfacecurveofthespillwaysurfaceopeninginhighgravitydamsisoneoftheimportant
               factorsaffectingthehydrauliccharacteristicsofthedischargedwaterandthestabilityofthespillwaystructure.
               Duetothesteepweirsurfacecurve ,localnegativepressureaccumulatesontheweirsurfaceduringtheproto
               typeflooddischargeofthespillwaysurfaceopening.Toavoidcavitationanderosion ,athreedimensionalnu
               mericalmodelofthespillwaysurfaceopeningofahighgravitydamwasestablishedfortheoptimizationofweir
               surfacecurve.TheRNGk- ε modelwasusedtosimulateturbulence,andthevolumeoffluid(VOF)method
               wasadoptedtotrackthefreesurface.Theflooddischargeofthespillwaysurfaceopeninginahighgravity
               damwassimulatedandtheresultswerecomparedwiththatofthehydraulicmodeltest ,whichdemonstrated
               theaccuracyofthesimulation.ThreeoptimizationschemesoftheWEScurveequationwerefurtherproposed
               tostudytheinfluenceofdifferentschemesonthenegativepressureofthespillwaysurfaceopening.There
               searchresultsshowthatthelengthandvalueofthenegativepressureontheweirsurfacebottomplatebothde
               crease ,astheweirsurfacecurvebecomesgentler.Scheme1hasthesmallestnegativepressure,althoughthe
               dischargecapacityslightlydecreases,itstillmeetsthedesignrequirements.Moreover,astheweirsurfacebe
               comesgentler,theflowlinesinthecurvesectionbecomesmoother,theflowvelocityatthesamesectionde
               creases,sodoesthebottomflowvelocitygradient.Atthesamewaterdepth,theentrainedairconcentration
               increases.Therefore ,scheme1isselectedasthefinaloptimizedshape.
