Abstract:Ecologicalwaterdiversion(EWD)isaprimarymeasureforrehabilitatingdegradedecosystems
ininlandriverbasinsofaridregions;andtheriverwateroverflowinducedbyEWDprojectdirectlyim
pactstheefficacyofoasisvegetationrestoration.IntegratingtheGlobalSurfaceWaterDatasetspanning
from1987to2021aswellasnaturalenvironmentandhumanactivitydatawithinthebasin,thisstudy
delvesintothespatialandtemporalshiftsintheriveroverflowprocessanditsinfluencingfactorsbefore
andafterEWDinthelowerreachesoftheHeiheRiver.Thisisachievedbytheconstructionofwater
bodyfrequencybasedonGoogleEarthEngineplatform ,whichdenotestheratioofobservedinstancesofa
particularpixeltothetotalobservedinstanceswithinaspecifictime.Thefindingsrevealedthatbeforethe
diversion ,themeanannualrunoffatZhengyixia,ShaomayingandLangxinshanstationstoodat886×
