Abstract:ToclarifythespatiotemporalvariationsofagriculturaldroughtsintheLoessTablelandonthe
NorthoftheWeiRiver (LTNWR)from2001to2020,weemployedMODISdatatoconstructTsNDVI
featurespace.Subsequently,thetemperaturevegetationdrynessindex(TVDI)wasobtained,andthe
spatiotemporalevolutionofdroughtswasthoroughlyexamined.Meanwhile ,therelationshipbetween
droughtsandnaturalfactorsaswellashumanactivitieswasanalyzedbyGeoDetector ,andthekeydriving
factorsofthespatialdifferentiationof TVDIwereidentified.Ourfindingsrevealthat65.04% ofthere
gionexperiencedvaryingdegreesofdroughtannually,withanaverageTVDIvalueovermultipleyears
standingat0.52 ,indicatingastateofmoderatedroughtacrosstheentireregion.Notably,droughtcondi
tionswereparticularlysevereduringspring.Inthestudyperiod ,TVDIvaluesexhibitedfluctuatingand
decliningtrendswithstrongpersistence.Inturn ,approximately91.38% ofregionaldroughtconditions
eitherimprovedorremainedstableduringthisperiod.Furthermore,thespatialdifferentiationofTVDI
waspronouncedandprimarilyinfluencedbyfactorssuchaselevation,temperature,populationdensity,
andnormalizeddifferencevegetationindex.TheleadingfactorsaffectingTVDIvariedacrossdifferent
