Abstract:Inordertooptimizethelayoutofrivernetwork,itisnecessarytoclarifytheimpactofurbaniza
tionontherivernetwork.Basedonremotesensingimagesandrivernetworkdataofthreetimeperiods
(2000,2010and2020),thespatialandtemporalevolutioncharacteristicsoftherivernetworkinXi’an
Citywasanalyzedfromrivernetworkquantitativeandstructuralperspectivestorevealthequantitativerela
tionshipbetweenurbanizationlevelandrivernetworkcharacteristics.Theresultsshowthattheareaofcon
structionlandhasbeenincreasingoverthepast20years ,accountingfor13.25% ofthetotalareaofthe
Xi’anCityin2020,andtheprocessofurbanizationhaschangedfromtheacceleratedstageofdevelopment
tothematurestage.ThequantitativeparametersoftherivernetworkinXi ’anCityshowedacontinuousde
creasingtrend ,withthedensityoftherivernetworkandwatersurfaceratiodecreasingby26.47% and
20.69%,respectively.Thestructuralcharacteristicsofthenetworkincludingriverdevelopmentcoefficient
andrivernetworkcomplexityshowedanincreasingandthendecreasingtrend ,butoverallattenuationtrend,
withanattenuationrateof19.87% and17.01%,respectively.Inregionswithdifferentratesofurbaniza
tion ,thespatialdistributionoftherivernetworkpatternvariedsignificantly,butunderthejointactionof
naturalfactorsandhumanactivities ,thestabilitydegreeoftheoverallrivernetworkstructureinXi’ancity
