Abstract:Toinvestigatetheresponseofwaterqualitytolanduseandlandscapepatternofdifferent
scales,thisstudyanalyzedthespatialandtemporalheterogeneityofwaterqualityandthecharacteristics
oflanduseandlandscapepatternsinmultiscaleriparianbufferzonesbasedonthehydrologicalandwater
qualitydataofseventransectsintheThreeGorgesReservoirareafrom2019to2021andthelanduseda
tain2020.Correlationanalysisandredundancyanalysis (RDA)werealsousedtodeterminetheeffects
oflanduseandlandscapepatternsonwaterqualityindicatorsandtheoptimalscaleofinfluence.Then,
partialleastsquaresregression(PLSR)wasusedtoexplorethekeyinfluencingfactorsundertheoptimal
scaleofinfluence.TheresultsshowthattheoverallwaterqualityconditionintheThreeGorgesReservoir
areawasstable ,thewaterqualityinthedrywaterperiodwasbetterthanthatinthewetperiod,andthe
waterqualityconditionwasmainlyaffectedbynonpointsourcepollution,tributaryconfluence,thephos
phorusindustryandurbanization.Furthermore,thelandscapepatchesinthesmallscalebufferzonewere
severelyfragmented ,butmorediversified;cultivatedlandwasthedominantlandscapetypeinthereser
voirarea ,anditsincreasedfragmentationwasconducivetoimprovingtheaquaticenvironment;forestand
grasslandhadabetterpurifyingeffectonthewaterenvironmentinthedryperiodthaninthewetperiod ,
