Abstract:Thediscfilterwithdiscreteflowchannelsisanoveldevicethatproducesarelativelysmallwa
terheadloss.Theregulardistributionoftheconvexstructuresonthediscsurfaceisoneofthemainfac
torsaffectingheadlossofthediscfilter.Inordertofindouttheinfluenceofdifferenttypesoftheconvex
structureontheinternalflowfieldandfurtherreducetheheadlossofthediscfilter ,aphysicalexperi
mentandnumericalsimulationwereconductedtoanalyzetheheadlossandflowfielddistributioncharac
teristicsoffivedifferentconvexstructures,includingtheoriginalrighttriangle,rhombus,oval,uppertri
angleandlowertriangle.Theresultsshowthatthelowertriangleisconducivetoreducingthecontact
lengthbetweentheconvexstructureandthemainflowzoneandtheturbulencekineticenergyintensity ,
aswellastheheadlossofthediscfilterwithdiscreetflowchannels.Comparedwiththeoriginalrighttri
angle ,thecontactlengthandmaximumturbulencekineticenergyofthefouroptimizedconvexstructures
decreasedby9.61% -36.73% and25.87% -49.96%,respectively,amongwhich,thoseofthelower
triangledecreasedby29.99% and49.96%.Accordingtothesimulation,theheadlosscoefficientofthe
