Abstract:PhytoplanktonsurveyswerecarriedoutinMayandJune2022aroundtwodifferentintensities
ofrainfalleventstobetterunderstandhowrainfallaffectthephytoplanktoncommunitystructureinsub
tropicalreservoirs.Incombinationoftaxonomicandfunctionalgroupclassificationmethods ,thevariabili
tyofphytoplanktoncommunitiesbeforeandafterthetworainfalleventswereexaminedinthisstudyusing
nonmetricmultidimensionalscaling(NMDS),andthedrivingfactorsbehindthestructuralsuccessionof
phytoplanktoncommunitieswereinvestigatedusingredundancyanalysis (RDA)andvariancepartitioning
analysis(VPA).Theresultsshowedthat125speciesofphytoplanktonweredetectedin8phylaand69
genera ,andthefunctionalgroupsweredividedinto11species,amongwhichS1,SN,MP,andNwere
themainfunctionalgroups.ThephytoplanktoncommunitystructurechangedbeforeandafterRainfallI
andRainfall Ⅱ.ThephytoplanktoncommunityevolvedfromCyanobacteriatoBacillariophytainRainfall
Ⅰ,andBacillariophytaweredominantduringtherainyperiod;whereasCyanobacteriawerealwayscom
pletelydominantinRainfallⅡ,duringwhichthephytoplanktoncommunityevolvedslightlyfrom
