                 Abstract:Thecontradictionsbetweenmultiobjectivesareprominentundertheregulationofcascaderes
                 ervoirs.Inordertorealizethesynergyandequilibriumofdifferentbenefits,firstly,theprimaryandsec
                 ondarybenefitsofmultiobjectivesareidentified ,andamultiobjectivesynergisticregulationmodelfor
                 reservoirsisestablishedbasedonsynergeticstheory;secondly,amethodofmultiobjectivebalancedben
                 efitregulationisproposedbasedonsatisfactionboundaries ;lastly,thecorrelationdimensionofthechaos
                 theoryandKolmogoroventropyareusedtoidentifyandguidethechaoticcharacteristicsofmultiobjective
                 regulationsystemofcascadereservoirs.TheapplicationresultsintheupperYellowRivercascadereser
                 voirsshowthatundertheproposedtheoryandmethod ,thebenefitsofmultiobjectivescanreachasatis
                 factorystateofsynergyandequilibriumwithinacertainperiodoftimewithoutreducingtheguaranteelev
                 elofmultiobjectivebenefits.Thesynergisticdegreeofthemultiobjectiveregulationsysteminthefinal
                 schemeis0.64 ,andtheguaranteedegreeoftheprimarybenefitsofmultiobjectivesarehigherthanthe
                 secondarybenefits.Thisstudyprovidesanewapproachfortheefficientutilizationofwaterresourcesin
                 waterdeficientbasinsafflictedbycompetitionsbetweenmultiobjectives ,expandstheresearchscopeof
                 multiobjectiveoptimalregulationofreservoirs ,andpromotestheintersectionandfusionofsystemengi
                 neering,synergyandchaosinthefieldofwaterresourcesresearch.
