                 Abstract:Deepburiedhydraulictunnelsareusuallyconstructedundertheconditionofhighgroundwater
                 level.Toaccuratelyevaluatethedeformationstabilityofthesurroundingrock,itisnecessarytoreasona
                 blysimulatethemechanicaleffectofexternalwaterinfiltration.Althoughithasbeenrecognizedthatrock
                 matrixcompressibilityshouldbetakenintoaccountintheseepage-stresscouplinganalysisofsaturated
                 rocks ,thereisstilllackofrelevantresearchontheeffectsofrockmatrixcompressibilityonthedeforma
                 tionstabilityofhydraulictunnelsunderhighexternalwaterpressure.Basedontheeffectivestressprinci
                 pleofsaturatedporousmediumandporepressurecorrectioncoefficient,aseepage-stresscouplingmod
                 elofhydraulictunnelsunderhighexternalwaterpressureisproposedwiththeconsiderationoftheperme
                 abilityvariationofsurroundingrockduringitsdeformationprocess.Then,theproposedmodelisimple
                 mentedinABAQUS ,andtheseepagefieldanddeformationstabilityofadeepburieddiversiontunnelis
                 studiedunderdifferentconditionsofrockmatrixcompressibility.Numericalsimulationresultsshowthat
                 rockmatrixcompressibilitydirectlyaffectstheexternalwaterinfiltrationprocess,anditisunfavorableto
                 thedeformationstabilityofthehydraulictunnelunderhighexternalwaterpressure.Thegreaterthecom
                 pressibilityoftherockmatrix ,thelargerthedeformationandplasticzoneofthesurroundingrock.This
                 indicatesthatthedeformationstabilityevaluationofsurroundingrockofthehydraulictunnelunderhigh
                 externalwaterpressurewithoutconsideringtherockmatrixcompressibilitywillleadtoincorrectresults
