Abstract:Inordertoimprovetherelevanceandaccuracyofthemonitoringandearlywarningofcoaland
rockunstablefailureindeepundergroundengineering,thechargeinductionandmicroseismicsignals
generatedbycoalandrockinthedeformationandfractureprocessundercyclicloadingweremonitored
simultaneouslybyaselfdevelopedmultichannelmonitoringsystem ,andthetime-frequencycharacter
isticsandenergyfeaturesofthesignalswereanalyzedandcomparedwiththoseoftheuniaxialcompres
siontests.Theresultsshowthatthechargeinductionandmicroseismicsignalsofcoalandrockundercy
clicloadinghavedifferentcharacteristicsatdifferentloadingstages ,moremicrofracturesaregeneratedin
thecyclicunloadingsection,andchargeinductionsignalswithsmallpeakvaluesfrequentlyoccurbefore
multiplesplittingfracturesgenerateinthecoalsamples.OfparticularnoteisthatFouriertransformand
spectrumanalysisofthesignalsshowthatthevariationcharacteristicsofthespectralbandandspectral
amplitudeofthemicroseismicsignalscanverywellreflecttheinternalfractureextensionofthecoalsam
ples ,andtheincreaseoftheamplitudeofthemainfrequencyissynchronouswiththatoftheamplitudeof
microseismicsignals.Thechargeinductionandmicroseismicsignalscanjointlydefinetheloadingprocess
ofthecoalandrock,whichcanprovidemoreaccurateearlywarninginformationonrockfailures.
