                 Abstract:Threedimensionalnonlinearfiniteelementmethodisusedtocalculatethestaticanddynamic
                 stressdeformationofthe161m highasphaltconcretefacedrockfilldam intheupperreservoirofa
                 pumpedstoragepowerstationinthestrongearthquakeareawithseismicintensityof Ⅷ.Theresultsshow
                 thatthedeformationdistributionofthedamisreasonableunderstaticconditions.Themaximumhorizontal
                 displacementandsettlementofthedambodyare62.64and151.85cm,respectively,andthemaximum
                 tensilestrainofthedamfaceis0.56% instorageperiodofthereservoir.Undertheeffectofthe Ⅷ de
                 greeseismicaction ,themaximumdynamicdisplacementofthedambodyinthevalleydirection,theaxi
                 aldirectionandtheverticaldirectionare22.88 ,21.90and13.76cm,themaximumdynamicaccelera

                 earthquakeis30.01cm,withtheearthquakesubsidencerateof0.19%.Thearcsectionandthejunc

                 valueis0.85%.Insummary ,theoverallsafetyperformanceofthedamisgoodandtherewillbenoma
                 jorsafetyproblemsduringearthquakes.
