Abstract:Longseriesofnaturalrunoffdataundercurrentunderlyingsurfaceconditionsarethebasisof
waterresourcesassessment.However,changesoftheunderlyingsurfaceandhumanactivitiesoftenaffect
thehydrologicalcycleprocess,bringingsystematicdeviationandgreatuncertaintytowaterresourcesas
sessment.TakingtheXishuiRiverBasinasanexample ,awaterresourcesassessmentmodelisproposed
combiningtherunoffcomponentinvestigationmethodandtheSWATmodel.Differentwaterbalancee
quationsareestablishedforrunoffreconstructionaccordingtotherelationshipbetweenthelocationsofthe
hydrologicalstationandthereservoir ,andtheparametersofthemodeliscalibratedandverifiedusingthe
runoffdatawhichisreconstructedbytheyearswithsimilarunderlyingsurfaceconditions.Thenthemodel
isappliedtothesimulationofalongseriesnaturalrunoffprocess.Theresultsshowthatthereareobvious
deviationsintheconsistencyoftherainfall-runoffseriesofthehydrologicalstationsreconstructedonly
bytherunoffcomponentinvestigationmethod.However ,byconstructingtheSWATmodelbasedonthe
currentunderlyingsurfaceconditions ,thecorrelationbetweenrainfallandrunoffofthesimulatedrunoff
valuesofeachhydrologicalstationisbetterthanthereconstructedvalues ,andtheconsistencyoftherain
fall-runoffrelationshipindifferentperiodsissignificantlyimproved ,whichindicatesthatthisapproach
caneffectivelycorrecttheimpactofunderlyingsurfacechangesonrunoff ,andishelpfulforthefurther
studyofwaterresourcesplanningandriskassessmentoffloodanddroughtdisasters.
