Abstract:Toenhanceurbansurfacesourcepollutioncontrolandpromotethepracticalapplicationof
bioretentionfacilities ,weinvestigatedthechangepatternsoftypicalroofrainfallrunoffpollutionandthe
pollutantremovalperformanceofassembledhighlevelparterreinChangshabyonlineandmanualmonito
ringmethods ,andexploredthestructuralcompositionofmicrobialcommunitiesinthefacilitymediumby
Illuminahighthroughputsequencing.TheresultsshowedthattheconcentrationsofCODandSSinthe
initialroofrainfallrunoffofChangshawere22.9-153.0mg/Land58.4-294.4mg/L,respectively,
indicatingthattheinitialrunoffwashighlypolluted,andtheCODandSSshowedatrendofpositivecor
relation.Thepeakconcentrationofpollutantsoccurredwithin30minafterthestartofrainfallandgradu
allydecreasedandstabilizedwiththeincreaseofrainfallduration.Theincreaseofrainfallvolume ,rain
fallintensityandrainfallintervalwouldaggravatetheinitialflushandfurtherdeterioratethewaterquality
ofroofrainfallrunoff.TheremovalratesofCOD ,SSandNH—Nintheassembledhighlevelparterre

were58.3%,85.3% and66.2% andabove,respectively,andthewaterqualityoftheroofrainfallrun
offwassignificantlyimprovedafterpurification.Themaindominantphylainthemedium ofhighlevel
