                 Abstract:Ribbedsupportingstructureisanewtypeoffoundationpitsupportingstructure,whichiscom
                 posedofsteelsheetpilesandribplatesthatrigidlyconnectedwiththepiles.Theexistingengineeringca
                 seshaveprovedthatthesupportingperformanceofthestructureissatisfactory.However ,thesupporting
                 mechanismofthisstructureisyettobefurtherinvestigatedandprovedbyexperiments.Intheprocessof
                 foundationpitexcavation ,thedeformationandmechanicalcharacteristicsoftheribbedsupportstructure
                 andthestabilityoffoundationpitarestudiedbyfiniteelementmethod ,andthecalculatedresultsare
                 comparedwiththemeasuredvalues.Moreover ,theinfluenceofribwidthandribspacingonthehorizon
                 taldisplacementandstabilityofthestructureisanalyzed.Accordingtotheanalysis,themaximumhori
                 zontaldisplacementpredictionformulaisproposed ,whichcanpredicttheactualpossibledisplacementof
                 thesupportstructure.Theresultsshowedthatthedisplacementandinternalforceoftheribbedsupport
                 structurearemuchsmallerthanthoseoftheconventionalsupportstructureofsteelsheetpilesforthesame
                 project ,forexample,themaximumhorizontaldisplacementofthesheetpilesisdecreasedby71.56%
                 whentheribwidthis1.60mandtheribspacingis0.80m.Inthiscase ,thebendingmomentdistribu
                 tionofsheetpilesisrelocated ,thebendingmomentofthesheetpileisgreatlyreduced,sothestabilityof
                 thefoundationpitisimproved.Ribplatescannotonlygreatlyimprovethebendingstiffnessofthestruc
                 ture ,butalsocanproducealargeranchortensionforthestructuretoresistthesoilpressureonthefront
                 rowofsteelsheetpiles.
