Abstract:Itisnecessarytodeterminetheappropriateupperandlowersoilmoisturelimitsfordripirriga
tedspringmaize (ZeamaysL.)ateachgrowthstagetoprovideatheoreticalbasisfortheupgradingof
maizeirrigationmanagementinXinjiang.Cultivar “Taiyu339”waschosenasthetestmaterial,and
threeupperandlowerlimitsofsoilmoisture(50% ~80%FC,60% ~90%FC,70% ~100%FC,FCis
thefieldcapacity)weresetatthejointingstage,flowering-fillingstageandfilling-maturitystageof
maizerespectivelyandninetreatmentswereestablishedtoanalyzetheeffectofdifferentmoisturecontents
onthegrowthindicators ,yield,qualityandwateruseefficiency(WUE)ofspringmaizeusingtheorthog
onalexperimentaldesignmethod.Theresultsshowedthattheplantheight,abovegrounddrymatter
mass ,leafareaindex(LAI)andyielddecreasedsignificantlywhenthesoilmoisturecontentwasmain
tainedat50% ~80% FCineachgrowthperiod,butwateruseefficiencyincreased.Ingeneral,theyield
