Abstract:Wateruseefficiency(WUE)isthebasisofcarbonandwatercycleinecosystemandanim
portantecologicalindicatorforevaluatingvegetationgrowthconditions.Inordertorevealthespatiotempo
ralchangesofWUEofdifferentvegetationtypesinManasRiverBasin,analyzethedifferencesofWUEof
differentvegetationtypes,anddiscussthedrivingfactorsaffectingWUE,theWUEofManasRiverBasin
from2001to2019wasquantitativelyestimatedbasedonMODISdata.Moreover,thecoefficientofvaria
tion ,Theil-Senmediantrendanalysis,M-KsignificancetestandHurstindexwereadoptedtoanalyze
thecurrentsituationandfuturetrendofspatiotemporalchangesofvegetation WUE,andgeographicalde
tectorswereappliedtoquantitativelyanalyzetheinfluencingfactorsof WUEinthestudyarea.There
searchresultsshowthattheWUEintheManasRiverBasinfluctuatedbetween0.74and1.08g/(mm·

m)from2001to2019,andthemultiyearaverageofWUEwas0.88g/(mm·m),whichshowedan
overalldownwardtrend ,withadecreaseof6.82%.ThespatialdifferenceofWUEwassignificant,show
