                 Abstract:Batterpilesarewidelyusedinbridges,offshoredrillingplatformsandfoundationsofwind
                 powerprojects ,andtheirbearingcharacteristicsareverycomplex.Inordertorevealthebearingcharac
                 teristicsofsinglebatterpilesunderthecombinedactionofupliftforce,horizontalforceandtorque,ala
                 boratoryphysicalmodeltestoffourbatterpilesinsandysoilfoundationwascarriedoutusingaselfde
                 signedloadingequipment ,withwhichtheinfluencesofpileinclinationangle,upliftandhorizontalloads
                 onthehorizontaldisplacement,torsionangle,torqueandbendingmomentofthepileswerestudied.The
                 experimentalresultsshowthatthehorizontalbearingcapacityofthebatterpilesincreasewiththeincrease
                 ofthepileinclinationangle ;theincreaseoftheinclinationangleandupliftloadwillleadtothedecrease
                 ofultimatetorsionalbearingcapacityofthebatterpiles;themaximumbendingmomentofthebatterpiles
                 increasewiththeincreaseofthepileinclinationangleandupliftload;thecombinedloadscanonlytrans
                 fereffectivelytoacertaindepthforbatterpiles.
