Abstract:WiththerapiddevelopmentofsocialeconomyinZhuhaiandMacao,theproblemofwaterresources
hasbecomeincreasinglyprominent.ForthecomprehensivedevelopmentofZhuhai-Macaoregionandthepro
tectionofwaterresources ,thewaterresourcescarryingcapacityofwater-society-ecologycomplexsystemis
analyzedunderfourscenariosbasedonsystemdynamics,namely,statusquo,priorityofeconomicdevelop
ment,priorityofenvironmentalprotectionandintegrateddevelopment,andthenthedevelopingtrendofcom
prehensivewaterresourcescarryingcapacityof2020-2030isestimatedunderthesescenarios.Theresults
showedthatthewaterresourcescarryingcapacityofallscenariosintheforecastperiodshowsanincreasing

trend,andthetotalwaterconsumptionintheintegrateddevelopmentscenarioislowerthan684×10 m re
quiredbythestrictestwaterresourcesmanagementsysteminGuangdongProvince ,whichisbetterthanother
scenariosoverall.Zhuhai ’swatersupplytoMacaoisabout15% ofthetotalwatersupply,economicdevelop
mentandpopulationgrowthwillleadtoagapinwatersupplyanddemandinMacao ,andintegrateddevelop
mentscenariocanrelievethepressureonZhuhai ’swatersupply.Analysisofthewateruseefficiencyofeach
developmentmodelrevealsthatreducingindustrialwateruseisbeneficialtoenvironmentalprotection ,butwill
