                 Abstract:Inordertostudythemechanicalpropertiesofpesticidecontaminatedsoil,theunconfined
                 compressivestrengthtestwascarriedoutonloessunderdifferentorganophosphoruspesticide (glyphosate,
                 glufosinate)contents,compactiondegrees,moisturecontentsandcuringtime.Inthemeantime,themi
                 crostructuralcharacteristicsofcontaminatedsoilswerealsoexplored.Theresultsshowthattheunconfined
                 compressivestrengthofthecontaminatedsoildecreaseswiththeincreaseofpesticidecontent ,andthein
                 fluenceofglyphosateonthesoilissimilartothatofglufosinate.Theunconfinedcompressivestrengthof
                 thecontaminatedsoilincreaseswiththeincreaseofcompactiondegreeandcuringtime ,butdecreasesand
                 levelsoffwiththeincreaseofmoisturecontent.Microstructuralanalysisrevealsthatpesticideintrusionin
                 tothesoildoesnotchangethemineralcompositionofthesoil ,butadsorbsontheclaymineralparticles
                 inthesoil ,andreactswiththemineralinterlayerionstoreducetheinterlayercolumnsupport.Therefore,
                 theadditionofpesticidesmakestheparticlesmorefragmented,increasesthenumberoflargeporesinthe
                 soil ,dispersestheparticlesandreducesthestrengthofthesoil.
