Abstract:BasedonthemeasuredrunoffdataoftheThreeOutletsoftheSouthofJingjiangRiverfrom1956
to2016 ,thetemporalandspatialvariationcharacteristicsofrunoffwerestudiedinthebaseperiodand
changeperiodbytrendanalysisandwaveletanalysismethods,presuming1989asthedividingpointofwa
tersystemconnectivityvariation.Theresultsshowedthatthedeclineratesofaverageannualrunoffinthe

baseperiodandchangeperiodwere194.57×10m /aand76.82×10m /a,respectively,whichshowed
adownwardtrend.Therunoffwasmainlyconcentratedinthewetseason ,accountingfor60% -70%.
Runoffsinthefourhydrologicalseasonsdecreasedby40% -80% inthechangeperiod ,andthedecline
rateinthedryseasonwasashighas77%.Runoffchangespresentedthreetypesofperiodiccycles,the
numberofshorttermcyclealternationbetweenwetanddryphasesinthechangeperiodwasabouttwotimes
morethanthatinthebaseperiod ;whereastherangeandcentralvalueofthelongtermcycleswereshort
enedbyaboutsixyears.TherunoffinXinjiangkouandGuangjiapuhydrologicalstationswereabout2/3of
thetotalflowoftheThreeOutletsarea ,whichwereconcentratedinthewestbranchofSongziriverandthe
eastbranchofOuchiriver.Theresultscanprovideascientificandtechnicalsupportfortheregulationand
storageofwaterresourcesintheThreeOutletsareaandtheDongtingLake.
