                 Abstract:InordertoinvestigatethecontentofheavymetalsinLhasaRiver,watersampleswerecollect
                 edfrom16samplingpointsinthemiddleandlowerreachesofLhasaRiverandtheDuilonquTributaryin
                 July2017.Theconcentrationsoffiveheavymetals(As,Cd,Cu,ZnandMn)weremeasuredandthe
                 humanhealthriskscausedbytheseheavymetalsviadrinkingwaterwereevaluated.Theresultsshowthat
                 theconcentrationsofthesefiveheavymetalsinthewaterofthestudyareaareasfollows :Zn>Mn>Cu>
                 As>Cd ,whichdonotexceedthelimitvaluesspecifiedintheStandardsforDrinkingWaterQuality(GB
                5749—2022).Moreover,thewaterqualityofthestudyareaalsomeetsclassIand Ⅱ standards(accord
                 ingtotheEnvironmentalQualityStandardsforSurfaceWater(GB3838—2002)).Thehighconcentra
                 tionsofAs,CuandMnareprimarilydistributedinthelowerreachesofLhasaRiverandthoseofZnare
                 inthemiddlereaches.Theresultsofhealthriskassessmentshowthatthehealthriskofchemicalcarcino
                 genheavymetalsismuchgreaterthanthatofnoncarcinogenheavymetals.Asistheleadingchemical
                 carcinogenheavymetalinLhasaRiver ,contributing71.1% ofthecarcinogenicrisk.Thehealthrisks
                 causedbyheavymetalsviadrinkingwateringestioninLhasaRiveraregenerallyatanacceptablesafety
                 level;however,childrenaremoresusceptiblethanadultstothesamehealthrisk,whichposesagreater
                 threattotheirhealth.Therefore ,stricterregulatorymeasuresareneededtomanagechildren’sdrinking
                 waterproblems.
