Abstract:Waterflowchangesleadtochangesinriverecohydrologicalregime,andthenaffectthehealth
ofriverecosystems.InordertoclarifytheeffectsofhydrologicalterationsonfishhabitatintheWujiang
Rivermainstream ,dailyflowdatafrom1956to2019andspawningdataof12driftingfishspeciesfrom
2009to2015wereselectedfrom therecordintheWulongHydrologicalStation.TheMann-Kendall
(M-K)testandthecumulativeanomalymethodwereusedtostudytheabruptchangesintheWujiang
Rivermainstream,inordertoanalyzethechangetrendofdailyflowbeforeandaftertheabruptchanges.
Thenthecharacteristicsandchangedegreeof32setsofhydrologicalindexeswereevaluatedusingindica
torsofhydrologicalteration-rangeofvariabilityapproach (IHA-RVA)method,soastostudythefish
populationchangeprocessunderthechangeofhydrologicalregimes.Theresultsshowthattheabrupt
changeintheWujiangRiverflowoccurredin2009 ,whichisthesameastheoperationtimeofPengshui
HydropowerStation.Aftertheabruptchange ,theaveragedailypeakflowfluctuatedaround15,000

m /s,whichwascloseto18,000m /s,thedailypeakflowbeforetheabruptchange.Furthermore,the
overallchangedegreeof32setsofhydrologicalindexeswas38.7%,whichfellintothemoderaterange.
Thedurationandfrequencyoflowflowwithhighchangerangewere74.64% and75.29% respectively ,
andtheoccurrencetimewasdelayedby4days;whereasthoseofthehighflow was29.79% and
