                 Abstract:Thechoiceofenergydissipatertypesiscrucialtothedesignofwaterconservancyprojects.
                 Here,thecharacteristicsandvariationpatternsofwaterflowintheslottypeflipbucketinthedischarge
                 processarestudiedusingRNGk- ε turbulencemodelandvolumeoffluid(VOF)methodforthesimula
                 tionofthethree-dimensionalwatergastwophaseflowinthespillwayandplungepool.Theresultsshow
                 thatthewaterdepth,flowpatternandflowangleofthenumericalsimulationresultsareingoodagreement
                 withthoseofthephysicalmodeltest ,whichverifiesthefeasibilityofthenumericalsimulation.Onthis
                 basis,theshapeandpositionofthewatertongueintheair,theflowvelocityinthecontractionsectionof
                 theslot ,thepressuredistributionlawandthecharacteristicsoftheoutgoingflowfieldareanalyzed,with
                 whichthepositionofthemaximumpressureattheslotandthevariationlawofthewatertonguevelocityin
                 theairaredetermined.Theresultsindicatethatthenarrowingeffectoftheslottypeflipbucketisobvi
                 ous,thepositionsofthemaximumwatertonguevelocityintheairarebasicallythesame,andthevelocity
                 differenceateachpointatthesameverticalpositiondecreasesalongtheway.Thevelocityatthebottom
                 plateoftheslotsectionofthespillwayshowsaparabolicdistributionlaw ,whereasthepressureshowsa
                 distributionlawofthreeintervalsandthreetrends.Theresearchresultscanprovideareferenceforthe
                 designofenergydissipatersofthesametypeinpracticalengineeringprojects.
