Abstract:ThewaterandsedimentexchangestatusbetweenthemiddlereachesofHuaiheRiverandthe
HongzeLakeaffectstheintrinsicrelationshipbetweentheriverandlake.Basedonthecalculationofthe
waterandsedimentexchangeindexesbetweenHuaiheRiverandtheHongzeLakefrom1975to2015 ,a
varietyofstatisticaltestswerecarriedoutforthetrendvariation,abruptchangetestandperiodicstatistics
analysisoftheindexes.Theresultsshowthat ,affectedbytheHuaiheRiverregulationprojectsbuiltin
differentages ,thewaterexchangebetweentheriverandlakegenerallyshowedaninsignificantincreasing
trend ,resultinginaninsignificantincreasingtrendofthereservoircapacityoftheHongzeLakeaswell.
Sedimentintothelakewasmorethanthatoutofthelake,andsedimentdepositioninthelakebasinin
creasedinsignificantlyyearbyyear.However ,thereservoircapacityandbasindepositionoftheHongze
Lakefluctuatedstablyduringthestudyperiod ,andtherewerenoobviousabruptchanges.Thewaterand
sedimentexchangedegreebetweentheHuaiheRiverandHongzeLakeshowedmultitimescaleperiodic
characteristics ,with14aasthefirstprincipalperiod.Thewaterandsedimentexchangedegreebetween
theriverandlakewasinarelativelystablestate.Theresearchresultsclarifiedthewaterandsedimentin
teractiverelationshipbetweenthemiddlereachesofHuaiheRiverandtheHongzeLake ,whichcouldpro
videatheoreticalguidanceforriver-lakegovernance.
